How we got our start

Our dog Ginger, born with severe hip dysplasia, needed surgery at 6 months old, followed by knee surgery a few years later. Using a towel or flimsy sling was difficult and uncomfortable. Going up and down stairs was also challenging, so we attached a leash to a padded sling and GingerLead was born!

What makes our product unique

Our patented harnesses were designed with you and your dog's safety and comfort in mind. They are nicely padded with a soft corduroy lining with a cutout for male dogs and do not bunch up. The sling is adjustable for height and integrates a leash for control. Machine washable/dryable. Made in U.S.A.

Why we love what we do

We know how hard it can be to care for a pet recovering from orthopedic surgery, or watching your sweet old pup weaken with age. Our personal experiences with Ginger's knee and hip surgery, then arthritis, inspired us to help other pets struggling with mobility or balance. Ginger's legacy lives on.

MEASURING INSTRUCTIONS

How to Measure The Large Female GingerLead is generally for large to giant breed female dogs over 65 lbs. Support pad is 7.5" wide x 22.5" long. Straps adjust from 38" - 60" long. Looking for the Medium Female size? See the Medium / Large Unisex size. For tall, lean dogs, consider the Tall Female size.	Pad Width Measure from the front of the hind legs to the base of the rib cage to determine the support pad width. For barrel chested dogs (i.e. Boxers), downsizing for pad width is common. NOTE: Support pad holds it shape and does not bunch up. If 7.5" seems too wide, consider the Medium / Large Unisex size.	Strap Length Measure starting where the handle of the GingerLead will rest in your hand (while you are standing upright), continue under your dog’s belly, up the other side, then back to your hand completing the loop. If it measures 37” or less, order the Tall size.

GINGERLEAD STAY ON STRAPS

Stay on Straps are OPTIONAL double sided Velcro strips that cinch the GingerLead straps together allowing the support pad to stay in place when the handle is released. This can be helpful for owners that prefer to leave the GingerLead on their dog giving them independence while going potty, opening a door, etc. Installation required.
